Valerie Dowdy is a visual artist living in Southwest Virginia, where she is developing a new body of work that incorporates the intricate details taken from het art journals and fusing them with her surrealistic painting style. It was from these very diaries that her first coloring book emerged. She literally tore the pages out of her private books to publish Abstract Expressions.
It wasn’t long before requests for a second volume and Valerie followed up with Abstract Expressions Volume Two.
As the holidays approach the request for a coloring book/ calendar kept popping up, Valerie went to work organizing snd drawing to collaborated with a local printer. Whats next? a spiral coloring book in the works for Volume three and if there is a fourth book she will return to her original, abstract style .
