Meet Artist Christine Vencato:
In creating colouring books, Christine found that the world of illustration encouraged feelings of calm and happiness. She discovered that other adult colourists find that the art of colouring is very therapeutic. Colouring can be particularly calming for those who are interested in mediation and deep relaxation and getting in touch with their inner selves.
Christine’s four book series: “A Jewellery Inspired Book” is her big debut into the world of adult colouring books. Why jewellery? Christine started her career as a theatrical scenic artist at the Theatre Royal Windsor. Her favourite time of year was summertime, when the preparation for the Christmas Pantomime sets, props and backdrops would begin. Pantomime = glitter! From the costumes to the props and the scenery to the backdrops, everything sparkles magically under the lights. With her Jewellery Inspired series, she recreates some of her precious memories.
Her most recent addition to her library is “Fabulous Women” – a figurative book depicting scenes including lovely ladies at work, or just relaxing. From a mysterious Venetian masked lady, a carousel rider to a sweet girl feeding chickens, this book contains 24 hand drawn illustrations, designed to challenge even the most experienced colourists.
Christine has a degree in Theatre Design: Technical Arts Interpretation from Wimbledon School of Art, London. She has worked on many productions, but she definitely prefers the gentler work of illustrating, now that she has a very active three year old son: Matteo!

If you prefer to work directly inside the book using gel pens/markers, it is advisable to place a sheet of plain paper between the pages to prevent bleed through. Or, you are free to photocopy these designs on your favourite paper or card for your own use.
